Public BBQ

An urban forest at Mile End, created in 2012 on the old SA Water depot site and still being added to with indigenous plantings. It makes a genuinely peaceful walk for somewhere in such a busy corner of the city, with meandering pathways, natural features that suit children's nature play, and low gabion walls useful for a stretch or a sit. There is a carpark, a barbecue, a picnic table and a couple of pieces of public art. The dog-walking paths are good. There are no toilets. The park has slipped in recent years, with dumped rubbish and trolleys a recurring problem, and hospital development has taken part of the Port Road edge.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Adelaide council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Adelaide council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
